AVID Field Trip Recently AVID just went on a field trip to Johnson and Wales. Johnson and Wales is a college where you can go for business, culinary and hospitality. When we just got there we went into this classroom and an admissions lady talked to us about the Johnson and Wales experience. You have to wear uniforms when you are a student there and for business majors you get to wear a black suit. For culinary majors you wear a white shirt and cool checkered pants. After that we met our tour guides and headed off. First we went to see the dorm rooms. The dorm room was so amazing it was small but you shared it with 2 people and 1 bathroom. The best part is you can decorate it however you and your roommate like. What Johnson and Wales does is they give you a roommate by comparing study habit, sleeping habits, and overall personality. Next we went to the culinary building and watched how teachers taught their students. Did you know once you cooked something you get to eat it! How great is that!!?? We went by the pastry /baking kitchen and we got as many free samples! They were all fat free and sugar free. It may not sound good but WOW they were good. We went to the hospitality building next and we went into the lounge area where the students hold coffee houses and open mic night. Then there was a gift store for students where the culinary students mostly were to get books and knife kits ECT. Did you know that classes at Johnson and Wales are 6 hours long!!!?? But they are only 9 days long sounds hectic right? The next place and the last place we went to was the cafeteria where they had a all you can eat buffet. We were able to get all the food we could eat!!!! To conclude, Johnson and Wales is a college I recommend to people because they have nice teachers, flexible schedule, and an all you can eat buffet. If you get an opportunity to visit it don’t turn it down!!!!
